Dataflow - News and Events

August 2005

Dataflow are pleased to announce that Dataflow (UK) Limited have purchased the business of John Richard & Co. (Systems) Limited, a company which has been a dataflow Reseller for many years.

We at Dataflow felt this was a good time to bring Rod Taylor and his team, who will continue to be based in Musselburgh, into the Dataflow group as they have developed several vertical market applications which will greatly enhance our ability to offer an even wider range of business application software.

The products include Multihaul (haulage management), GAS (a garage administration system) and A~Plus (a school administration system).

All these products have been seamlessly integrated to dataflow and are fully tried and tested. However, it is our firm intention to even further develop this software and help companies in these sectors to achieve growth.

December 2004

A pre-Christmas get together of some of the Dataflow Resellers was held to introduce the revised Evaluation System and the new features which are due for release in the early part of 2005.

BASDA (the Business Application Software Developers Association) has introduced a new Code of Practice for its Members which is designed to set quality standards for best practice for software suppliers.

As a BASDA member Dataflow has subscribed to the BASDA Code of Practice and has agreed to abide by the terms of the code which covers Product Development; Documentation; Testing/Quality Assurance and Software Support.

Issues such as development planning, upgrade paths, minimum notice for product withdrawal as well as testing, provision of information, problem reporting processes and charging issues are all covered in the Code of Practice. It also includes a promise that, in the event that a user has a dispute with the software house that might be service or product related, then the software house will provide the user with a clearly defined escalation process for resolution.

September 2004

The new Report Messenger was released this month. This feature provides both accounts and non-accounts users with up-to-the-minute information automatically distributed directly to their Windows desktop. The module comes with many pre-defined reports and will dramatically reduce the time spent collating and distributing information.

October 2003

The Waste Collection Disposal Management module, which will be of specific interest to the Waste Collection industry has just been launched. This system allows full control and monitoring of regular collections/deliveries. Schedules can be produced on a daily or weekly basis and the efficiency of the collections monitored. Where special arrangements have to be made for the collection of the goods the necessary paperwork can be produced. On completion the collection details are transferred through to the accounting ledgers.

Over the past few months we have been busy developing the e-mail Communications module. Our existing customer base has already been sent details of the new module and we have had a great deal of interest in this new feature.

June 2003

The product was launched at the House Building Industry IT Seminar & Showcase held on the 9th June at the Renaissance Hotel in Solihull where Dataflow and AIM hosted a 45-minute break out session.
