Dataflow - Nominal Ledger |
dataflow provides a highly flexible multi-dimensional accounts structure. This is founded on a free format chart of accounts, which can be linked to multiple, multi-level analysis structures.
The dataflow Cost Centres provide greater analysis of nominal account information, actuals and budgets, on up to five nested levels. Subject to operational needs, Cost Centre analysis can dramatically reduce the number of nominal account headings in use.
Each level may be designed for operation with a 'closed' hierarchy, where the analysis declared at one level will automatically pick up related analysis at higher levels. Alternatively, an 'open' approach will allow any combination of analysis over the levels in use.
Optional security expending down to account level allows you to grant access to individual users on the basis of what they need to know and what they need to do.
dataflow is designed to handle international dimensions as the need arises. Options can be set at both local company and group level, consolidating results in many different national currencies into a currency of choice.
Currency based options can be easily extended from a multi-currency input/single base currency system to multiple base currency operations.
Sales and purchase accounts support postings in any currency, regardless of their default currency designation. Offset invoices in one currency with payments in a different currency, e.g. Euros as payment for US dollar invoices. Nominal Ledger offers account analysis in relevant currencies. Exchange differences are handled automatically.
The multiple base currency approach is ideal for Euro operations enabling the production of statutory and local information in the currency of choice. The application of additional base currencies can be further extended where the members of a group of companies operate in different national currencies. Assignment of a company to a specific base currency means the user interface is suited to each national operation.
dataflow will maintain completely parallel records of transactions and balances across all base currencies and all reports can be produced on demand in any number of base currencies.
Powerful revaluation options support the maintenance of currency books of account and automatically generate postings for exchange differences.
dataflow can support an unlimited number of companies. Each company can use its own separate system configuration, document layouts, etc. Users are able to move easily between companies, subject to their user access profiles, switching directly to avoid the normal log-off/on procedures
Because dataflow can be set up to share the basic details of nominal accounts, customers, suppliers, stock records, in fact all standing data, it makes implementing consolidation in complex organisation structures fast and painless.
The ability to define consolidation "groups" within dataflow means that any mix of companies within the group can be combined. All reports and analysis can be produced in a consolidated format by simply changing run-time parameters.
Producing both standard and special reports has never been simpler. Intuitive and flexible, dataflow lets you produce management reports and analyse company and group performance with ease.
The batched reports feature produces repetitive reports quickly; the easy to use built-in report writer has the flexibility to design effective report layouts that can be processed according to varying criteria, such as period range.
Report Messenger provides both accounts and non-accounts users with up-to-the-minute information automatically distributed directly to their Windows desktop. The information can be distributed by placing it in a central location, directly e-mailing it to the users, or placing it on a website for access across the Internet or Intranet.
Consolidated information is right there whenever required. Extensive reporting filters can be applied on standard reports, with full support for currency information. The consolidation options may be used in conjunction with a base currency selection, enabling output of group results in a base currency of choice.
The dataflow Nominal Ledger provides controls to automate the processing of recharges (and associated analysis) from one company to another.
The dataflow Nominal Ledger allows multiple budgets to be created in any currency, and you can create multiple budget sets from existing budget sets or actual balances. The user defines the period span for each budget and there are extensive options to set values automatically or manually
Nominal Ledger saves time, reduces effort and increases quality by making routine operations as easy as possible. Screen design, keyboard shortcuts and automatic tab-handling ensure that making entries is a fast, simple process.
There are versatile options for entering Cost Centre allocations. Nominal Ledger has an integrated cashbook, bank reconciliation and management report generator, and provides multi-currency support. It also offers extensive journal entry routines, such as standard journals, cashbook-style entry incorporating VAT handling; automatic recurring and reversing journals for accruals; prepayments; standing orders; journal templates and redistribution.
Nominal Ledger makes automatic postings from the Sales and Purchase Ledger modules into respective control and bank accounts and into ledger-specific accounts for settlement discounts, write-offs, payment, exchange gains/losses and currency commission. There is also an option to specify control account mapping for automatic postings by customer type and supplier type.
Nominal Ledger leaves nothing to chance. Other features include prior period/year adjustment postings and drag-and-drop facilities to handle the import of transactions from spreadsheets. Fully auditable error correction features remove the need to make manual reversals and re-postings. Batch-controlled procedures are supported by transaction rollback, so if there is ever a system problem, the integrity of account balances and supporting detail is ensured. Full audit trails and daybooks are maintained and are available for enquiry.
With dataflow you have the ability to easily navigate around the system. You can quickly drill down from a nominal ledger account balance to the originating transactions, such as sales orders and purchase invoices. You can view the postings made from any transaction and quickly reproduce the relevant documents, such as invoices.
Cheques can be printed directly from the Nominal Ledger, with or without a remittance advice note.
