Insight

One viewer for every report you run.

DataFlow puts a single reporting layer behind every module, built on Microsoft ReportViewer. Preview, Print, Email or Export to PDF — the same four outputs, the same viewer, whether the report ships with the module, was written for you, or is the document you are about to send.

  • One viewer across every module
  • Preview, Print, Email or Export PDF everywhere
  • Custom reports run alongside the standard ones

The problem

When every report works a little differently.

If each screen has its own way of printing, mailing and saving, people learn the software one report at a time.

A different viewer on every screen

One module prints, another only exports, a third mails from somewhere else entirely — so nobody is quite sure what any given report can do.

Bespoke layouts live outside the system

The report a customer had written sits in a separate tool, run by hand, disconnected from the data it is meant to describe.

Documents that never match the brand

Invoices and despatch notes carry the wrong logo, address or footer, and changing them means a call to someone rather than a setting.

Print settings that never stick

Printer, tray and number of copies are chosen again on every run, because there is no way to save the settings a report should use each time.

Frequently asked

Reports questions.

What can I do with a report once it is open?

Every report offers the same four outputs: Preview on screen, Print, Email, or Export to PDF. They are the same on every module because the whole reporting layer is built on one Microsoft ReportViewer.

Can I have reports written to our own layout?

Yes. Custom reports are bespoke layouts you commission. They load alongside the standard module reports and run from the same viewer, so there is no separate tool to open.

How do invoices and despatch notes get our branding?

Document layouts — invoices, despatch notes, statements, remittances, purchase orders and credit notes — are customisable per installation, covering the logo, colour, address block, terms and footer. They run from the document edit window.

Can print settings be saved so I do not set them each time?

Yes. Print profiles can be saved per report, per user or per company, so the settings you use are there the next time you run it.
