Capability

Every company in the group, one installation.

A single DataFlow installation runs any number of companies on one database, with every transaction tagged to the company it belongs to. Give each user the companies they need, post between companies automatically, and roll the group up into a consolidated view.

The problem

When each company is its own island.

Running separate systems per company means separate logins, separate reconciliations and a group picture nobody can see without a spreadsheet.

A separate system per company

Every company kept in its own installation means duplicated setup, duplicated maintenance and no single place to see the whole group.

Inter-company entries done twice

A charge raised in one company has to be re-keyed as the matching entry in the other, so the two sides drift apart and reconciliation eats the month-end.

The group view is a spreadsheet

Consolidated reporting waits on someone exporting each company and stitching the numbers together by hand, long after the period has closed.

A separate login for every company

Staff who work across two or three companies keep a different login for each and close one system to open the next, so simply moving between them wastes time all day.

Frequently asked

Multi-company questions.

How many companies can one installation run?

A single DataFlow installation runs any number of companies on one database, with every transaction tagged to the company it belongs to. The number of companies the installation runs is set by your licence.

Can I control which companies a user sees?

Yes. Each user has a configurable list of the companies they can log into, so people only work in the companies that are theirs and log into the one they need from their own list.

How does inter-company posting work?

A transaction in one company automatically generates the matching opposite-side posting in a second company. The relationship is configured per company pair, so the two sides stay in step without re-keying.

Can I report across the whole group?

Yes. Consolidation rolls the companies together into a group view for reporting, so you can see the group from one place rather than exporting each company and merging by hand.
