Type a postcode, pick the address.

Postcode Lookup adds address auto-complete to DataFlow through PostcodeAnywhere. Start with a postcode, choose the matching address and every address field fills itself — no re-keying, and address data stays clean and consistent across the system.

The problem

When every address is typed by hand.

If addresses are keyed from scratch each time, small mistakes creep in and the same place ends up recorded three different ways.

Re-keying every address

Customer, supplier and delivery addresses are typed out in full each time, which is slow and easy to fat-finger.

Inconsistent records

The same address is spelt and abbreviated differently across records, so the data never quite lines up when you search or report.

Deliveries to the wrong place

A mistyped postcode or a missing line sends a delivery astray, and the correction lands after the vehicle has already gone.

One customer, several records

Because the same address is keyed a little differently each time, a customer gets set up more than once, and their orders and history end up split across the duplicate accounts.

Frequently asked

Postcode Lookup questions.

What does Postcode Lookup do?

It provides address auto-complete. You type a postcode, pick the matching address and DataFlow fills the address fields for you, so there is no re-keying.

Which address service does it use?

It uses PostcodeAnywhere. Postcode Lookup is a thin wrapper around the PostcodeAnywhere address service, so the lookup sits inside the address field you are working in.

Where can I use it?

On every address field in the system — customer, supplier and delivery — so addresses stay clean and consistent wherever they are entered.

How is it turned on, and are lookups stored?

It is enabled or disabled at the deployment level for everyone, rather than per user. Lookups are not cached or stored.
